The rapid expansion of the Internet, and its assimilation of so many of our once-offline, everyday functions (communications, news, bill-paying, entertainment, shopping, etc.), defines the last decade or two as the Internet age. Today, nearly four out of five Americans now access the Internet, and more than one-third of the world's population is online. And these numbers continue to soar due to the continued development of infrastructure and the availability of cheaper and more mobile computing devices.
A couple of outcomes of this transformation, as detailed in this infographic (click to enlarge), is the recent explosion of elearning as a means for corporate training and higher education, and the adoption of online registration as the preferred method to sign up participants for training programs and events.
