Basic Spirituality:  An Invitation to Christian Spiritual Teaching:
How God Loves, Transforms, and Makes People Whole

Leader:  Dr. Elizabeth Koenig

This retreat will introduce participants to a spiritual path whose profundity and richness have nurtured people for over two millennia.  We will explore personalities and teachings from ancient times to the present that speak of the value of a conscious, intentional relation with God.  This bond not only grounds human identity, through a clearer sense of self and a greater appreciation of potential, but also provides an effective passage through difficult situations of life, such as sickness, death, loss failure, and separation.  This, it turns out, is the condition for entering into the fullness of joy.  We will hear others' stories of spiritual growth and tell our own.  Spiritual practices, including various modes of prayer, discernment, and rituals for social change, will be explored and set in motion.  A fine way to forge a spiritual path or to attend to the one you tread.
