Each year in the fall, the clergy of the diocese meet with the bishop to renew acquaintances and take pleasure in fellowship and worship. This day includes a report from the General Convention along with updates and discussion of issues and concerns that affect our common life. Sponsored by the Clergy Planning Day Committee.

Bishop Councell graduated from the University of California, Riverside and from the Episcopal Divinity School. For two years he served as Vicar of Grace, Colton and St. Luke’s, Fontana, California. In 1977, he became the first rector at St. George’s, Riverside, California. In 1986 he was called to the Diocese of Western Massachusetts to serve as Canon to the Ordinary and then in 1995, to be the ninth Rector of The Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Forest, Illinois. In 2003, he was elected the Eleventh Bishop in this diocese.
