The Economic Stimulus Package and Your Community: Opportunities and Responsibilities

Friday, April 24, 2009

9:00 AM - 12:30 PM (8:30 am registration)

Green Tree Borough Municipal Center
10 W. Manilla Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15220

In partnership with Sustainable Pittsburgh

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, better known as the economic stimulus package, was signed into law in February. While ultimately presenting many opportunities to local governments, the stimulus package has also raised many questions about the funds that will be coming and how they can be used.  Join us for this program to learn how your community can benefit from the stimulus package.

Presenters include:

James Creedon, Secretary of the Department of General Services; State Stimulus Implementation Director

Stan Caldwell, Pittsburgh Regional Office of US Senator Arlen Specter

Cindy Haines, HUD Pittsburgh

Jim Foringer, PennDOT

Larry Gasparato, PENNVEST

Todd Colley, USDA Rural Development

Wayne Kucich, PA DEP

Fee: $35 per person.

Fee includes registration, handouts, light refreshments, and certificate of attendance.

Members of the NEOC Alumni Association receive a $10 discount.

This program is being offered FREE OF CHARGE to all elected officials and employees of municipalities that have been designated as fiscally distressed (Act 47) by the Commonwealth of PA, through the support of the DCED Governor’s Center for Local Government Services.
